My Students

In my school we currently use the Daily Five Reading program. However, we have never been formally trained on how to implement this program. I am also interested in implementing the Math Daily 3 program and the Daily CAFÉ into my classroom. I could then train my grade level teachers.

I would like to attend the two day live workshop with the 2 Sisters.

We have been using the Daily Five framework for the last 6 years. However, I am completely self- taught. I would like to be formally trained on how to implement it in my classroom. Then I could go back and train the other teachers in my grade level as well as my mentees. The first day of training focuses on the Daily 5 framework and the Math Daily 3 framework. My students love using the Daily Five Reading and I am equally excited about using the Math Daily 3 framework. The second day of training revolves around the CAFÉ. This is another component of Daily Five Reading that I have taught myself how to use. With formal training I could properly incorporate all of the frameworks into our daily instruction. Both the reading and the math provide a way to differentiate instruction in my classroom.

My Project

The range of my 23 students' abilities vary. I am constantly struggling to find a way to differentiate my math and reading instruction. Learning how to implement these frameworks would help me plan my math and reading small group and independent stations. These are the areas that my students have the most problems with. This training would help my students become better and more independent readers. It would also help them improve their math skills to help prepare them for the next grade.

In order to benefit my students and be the best teacher I can be I need to understand what I am teaching.

I also need to be able to take what I have learned and implement it into my daily instruction. This training would help me bring these frameworks back to my classroom. I could the use this training to help train the other teachers in my grade level.
