Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We have a new school building, but not enough books. Our student population has doubled since last year and we would really appreciate your donation of leveled non-fiction books for our classroom library.

Our class motto says it all: "Surround yourself with awesomeness, and you ARE awesome!" Our class is a menagerie of personalities and cultural backgrounds and we have really grown as a community of thirds graders since September.

A lot of the adults say we're their favorite class!

My Project

Books are the greatest gift you can give any child. Books enrich, entertain and open up new worlds for children; non-fiction books especially. A non-fiction book reveals to children the vastness of their surroundings and beyond. Embedded in the new Common Core State Standards, is a great push towards non-fiction reading by children. With more non-fiction books for our library, we would be on the right path towards this goal

We currently have an extremely limited number of non-fiction books in our classroom.

Your gift will help us begin our quest for knowledge of the so many things we have yet to explore in our great world.
