My Students

I'm a special education teacher for 13 years at a Title-1 school in Brooklyn. A lot of my students come from low income households and cannot afford supplies. My class is made up of both general and special education children who learn in a vast majority of ways, which is the most rewarding part of my job. Watching children learn when they feel confident and safe in their environment is just one perk about being a teacher.

This year I would like to ease my families' worries by providing them, and their children, with supplies and other items needed to succeed at school.

With this year being extra worrisome for families, cleaning supplies, academic materials and desk dividers would give students, and parents, the peace of mind they need to be back in school.

My Project

This past school year many families have expressed how worried they are about safety, school supplies/ items they know their kids will need at school, especially families who have children with anxiety. Within my ICT inclusion class your donation will allow us to provide the support, comfort and inclusivity for all children to have a successful school year. The cleaning supplies and desk shields will ease our student's & parents, anxiety, and the other materials (social-emotional posters, academic tools & basic school supplies) will give students a sense of normalcy.
