This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students deserve so much more than what is currently available to them. Everything that the district cannot afford to replace or buy tends to come from teachers' pockets. I do whatever I can to make sure my students have the proper resources in order to thrive in an English classroom and I still need your help!

Many of our students come to school without the proper tools and supplies to succeed; our school district is rated among the highest generational poverty nationwide.

Students cannot thrive in an educational setting unless their basic needs are met first. My co-teachers and I wish to provide our students with hygiene and other wellness products to ensure our students feel comfortable, safe, and cared for.

Teachers are expected to deliver excellent instruction without the requisite tools to teach our students. I am also building this project to provide my student teacher with the necessary resources she needs to be organized and efficient as an educator. Many teachers enter the field with nothing but passion in their hearts and knowledge in their heads, and are expected to design a classroom from nothing. We built this list with a variety of supplies to engage and motivate our students to succeed. Items like highlighters, markers, posters, sharpies, expo markers, and other supplies will help bring our lessons to life and allow our students to create interactive notebooks. Although, the opportunity and achievement gaps are apparent among our student population, they are all dreamers, and they all deserve the best!
