Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are eager to learn, they want to graduate from high school, attend college and achieve the American Dream.

My students attend a large public school in New York City.

The majority of my students are new to the United States. My students hail from Bangladesh, Egypt, Mexico, Yemen, India and Guatemala. They are eager to learn English, graduate from high school and pursue higher education.

My Project

My students need school supplies such as index cards, magazines, markers, post it notes and a dry erase board to keep students updated on important dates during the school year. Everyday my ESL students apply what they learn in class and create student work such as projects and writing pieces all in an effort to gain knowledge about Global History and Geography and United States History and Government. The supplies I am requesting will be used by my students to create maps, political cartoons and presentations on key people in history.

Donations will improve my classroom by helping my students and I have access to basic school supplies that are necessary and vital to learning.

The school supplies will help my students stay motivated to learn. As a result they will grow and become successful students and citizens.
