My Students

The children in my class are all very special, each in their own individual ways. Many of my students are ELL and 53% of them are performing below level. They are from an inner-city neighborhood, with many things going on in their little lives. They have many outside events that distract them throughout the day. They have a lot of energy. Sitting and focusing are just another added factor that interferes with their learning. They are a very diverse group of children with many different needs.

My Project

Scholastic News provides students information on events around the world. It will broaden their knowledge on real world events in order to make real world connections.

A subscription to Scholastic Magazines, means we have the ability to access text and colored photos of world events that are at grade level.

Necessary school supplies at the beginning of the new school year will set children up to be ready to learn on day one. Without the worry of not having crayons, pencils, glue, scissors, markers and a container to keep their work in. Simple items like these, are items that are not provided at home.

With your help, we can provide my students with what they need to grow and learn and become fluent readers and writers.
