Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The Lady Knights are the FIRST ever cheer team at our high school. We practice twice a week to rehearse cheers, build team spirit, create dance routines for half time and practice stunting. The team is made up of 20 youth from the community, grades 9th-12th.

Mission of the Knights: The NDHS Knights Cheerleaders are an inclusive team that welcomes a diverse group of individuals from the NDHS community.

Our primary responsibility is to increase pro-social skills by supporting our school's basketball team and promote positive school culture. We will help motivate fan support, foster school spirit, promote teamwork, provide inspiration and enthusiasm and encourage good sportsmanship at ALL home basketball games and events. We will display a positive attitude, pride, accountability and respect within our team, school and community! Cheerleaders understand that teamwork and the maintenance of discipline are the keys to the success of the spirit program. Cheerleaders are dedicated to promoting spirit, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude through example.

My Project

The team will use the skirts, shells, briefs, socks, bows, and other resources in practice and at games. The uniforms will help bring team spirit and build community, by looking uniform and representing our school colors. Our practice resources will enable us to practice safe stunting and build creativity and strength within the team.

Our team understands that teamwork and the maintenance of discipline are the keys to the success of the spirit program.

We are dedicated to promoting spirit, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.

Being the FIRST every NDHS cheer team, we will create a space, community, positive energy and these materials will be important to continue building the team in the future.
