This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My project advocates for mental health among our high school students. As the community health worker, I am a big advocate when it comes to mental health and want to ensure our students have enough resources available.
The specific items I am requesting will help me provide students with more knowledge on how to cope and manage their feelings.
The stickers and posters will serve as a reminder to them every day about mental health. The notebooks and pens will allow the students to write down their emotions as a journal for them to keep. My goals for this project is for students to break down the barriers of mental health. I don't want them to continue to fear being judged or have a lack of understanding on how they can feel better. What makes my school special is the students and how we emphasize not only mental health, but as well as diversity, inclusivity, and restorative justice. This helps us create a strong and safe community among our school.
