Please help us get this meaningful project funded. Myself and my students live on the Flathead Reservation in Montana. We are right next to the Salish and Kootenai College. I would really like to have more representation of Native American stories, figures, paintings and culture in the classroom.
Having more Native American representation in the classroom will allow my students to have a better understanding not just of their own tribe but others across the United States.
With these books I would like to share them with my students when we have our IEFA days that are dedicated to learning more about Native American's. These stories have wonderful plots and meaningful lessons that I cannot wait to share with my students.
I have also asked for some Native American art as well as replicas of materials that were used several centuries ago. This will allow my students to have a visual understanding and representation of the materials that Native Americans used a long time ago.
