My Project

My students have a lot of graphic novel books that they love to read. I am trying to get some of my higher level students to move from graphic novels, to normal chapter books.

Nate the Great books are an excellent middle ground of books.

They have occasional pictures, but a lot more text. This helps students be able to start making the pictures in their heads.

The more they can imagine books on their own, without the help of constant pictures, will help them be able to enjoy so many more books!
