Help me give my students the Nash Craig Airlines experience where we go above and beyond! We create living walls/murals to support our students’ learning while we also use passports to incentivize attendance and expand their global awareness!

My Project

Put your phones on airplane mode and get ready for take off! Our novels take our students all across the globe as they reflect the diversity of our student population; however, in order to travel with us, our students need to be present! Excellent attendance is rewarded with a personal passport that gets filled with travel stamps and stickers every Friday that they have perfect attendance for the week. You could not imagine the joy this brings our kiddos! Not only do we teach literature, grammar, writing structure, vocabulary, analytical thinking, and beyond, we also incorporate geography and culture as we have an incredibly varied student body. Everyone feels included, respected, and important! My co-teacher and I also use a plethora of colored card stock to create living support walls that grow into murals throughout each quarter. Our walls display themes, complex plot structures, sentence types, grammar rules, extended response organization, transition words, characters, primary concepts, important visuals, and so much more! Nash Craig Airlines was born from Covid and the need to re-engage our students, to bring enjoyment back into the high school classroom. We often reward students with assigning them certain duties (such as passing out highlighters, etc) which also include the title of co-pilot, TSA security, flight attendant, or plane mechanic/engineer. This hilarious classroom theme brings immense laughter and enjoyment to ALL who enter our classroom! Please know that your donation would give you the opportunity to participate in the mind-blowing teaching and learning that occurs daily in our room. We are rigorous teachers and are determined to provide our students with the highest quality education possible despite the challenges that come with being a low income district.
