My Students

My students are excellent and curious readers! They are gifted and talented in many ways and are always looking to take the next step in their learning. Their love of learning is amazing! Their interest in learning always sparks a smile on my face, as well as motivates me to push them further.

In addition to being avid readers, they enjoy creating art, working together in groups, being helpful to one another, and being innovators in all classroom subject areas.

My Project

Every student not only needs, but wants to be stimulated creatively in school. This is something hard to achieve, when the daily pressure of curriculum looms overhead. To engage my students in writing, we do a mystery unit of writing, complete with suspicious characters, motives, alibis, and more. This year, I would love to lead the class in a mystery novel to springboard this writing unit.

By using a mentor text, my students will experience first hand writing crafts by an expert author to mirror while they create their own mysteries!

I am so excited to see how far they can take their own characters and plots.
