Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items I’m requesting will create a more inclusive and engaging learning environment. Aprons will help students focus on their creativity without worrying about getting messy, while other tools will support hands-on, collaborative projects that cater to diverse learning styles, special needs, and language barriers. These resources will empower my students to fully participate, express themselves, and take pride in their work.

My goals for this project are to provide my students with the resources they need to fully engage in creative expression.

They will use yarn to "paint a picture," either by itself or with a print, fostering artistic exploration. A light box will allow them to photograph their work, which we can use for potential fundraising activities. Frames will help display their art in other classrooms, building their confidence and pride. Additionally, LEGOS and a sentence builder kit will serve as modifications to accommodate students with special needs, ensuring every student can participate and succeed.

My students are special because they bring incredible diversity, resilience, and creativity to the classroom. Many are new to the country and learning English, while others have special needs or unique learning styles. Despite these challenges, they approach art with enthusiasm and curiosity, using it as a way to express themselves and share their stories. Their determination to learn, grow, and create inspires me every day, and they deserve every opportunity to shine.
