This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are wonderful kids that are eager to be challenged and inspired. They are a very diverse population in a low income area. Our school is located in a neighborhood that is low income. However, resources are limited as they are at most public schools.

My students are very diverse!

I have 20 special needs online students and I assist with the other pre-k special needs class (7 other students). My class is very active. To keep these busy minds challenged and motivated, my students will need developmentally appropriate classroom materials to help them succeed in pre-k. I want to grow lifelong learners, readers and leaders.

My Project

I am teaching online Pre-K special needs students. Three year olds don't have the longest attention span as it is. On top of that, my entire class is special needs and require more prompting and direction. I need to make online learning fun, colorful, engaging and interactive. We are asking for some magnetic interchangeable animals to help engage with our daily live lessons online.In addition , we are asking for some interesting hats that I can wear for my online students. I use puppets to engage my students, but having some awesome hats might help keep them focused on the screen for longer.

These are unique times to teach special needs pre-schoolers online.

I'm hoping that the fun magnetic animals and hats will engage my non-verbal, and students that struggle with speech to develop more language during our daily online live sessions. Thank you so much for considering a donation to our project. God Bless!
