Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students all come from very diverse backgrounds across Miami-Dade County. Many are recipients of Title 1 funds and come from homes where English is not the primary language. My students often have to complete with school is the county that receive better funding and also have superior technology. Despite these obstacles, many of my students have managed to become first generation college students attending prestigious universities such as UF, UM, FIU, MIT, Harvard, and FSU. Any help goes a long way and is greatly appreciated by myself, as well as my students.

My Project

Times are rough and nothing helps students learn and achieve their maximum potential like a rich classroom experience. However, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, teachers and students have been encouraged to take on the roll of responsible citizens and quarantine themselves.

Gone are the days of rich hands-on lab experiences, group projects, and active learning, instead the classroom is now virtual!

As a result teachers need to find new way to motivate their students, stay in constant communication and still provide engaging lessons. I am asking for this laptop as a way to help serve my community and stay in contact with my students. With this laptop I will be able to provide high definition instructional videos and virtual labs. Please consider helping us out.
