Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have been using bean bags that have been breaking apart for years.

My students deserve the same quality physical education program as the kids in the suburbs.

School's budgets are really tight in the city these days and I want my students to have the best physical education program I can possibly give them and further make PE noticed as a priority.

My Project

My students will be able to practice throwing and catching with soft bean bags. The reason why the soft bean bags is important to me and my students is that it reduces the risk of injury. There are so many sports and activities that requires throwing I would like my students to have the foundations of this skill before they leave elementary school!

For over a decade my students have been using bean bags that are harder than I would like and are also breaking apart.

When you make learning a skill safer by having better equipment students will want to participate. As a PE teacher my goal is for all my students to have a love of physical activity for a life time and elementary PE is where the love starts for the majority of my students.
