My Students

Mathematics education has made dramatic changes over the past two decades, and much of this change can be attributed to advancements in technology.

The students at my school come from very diverse backgrounds and many do not have the ability to purchase a graphing calculator.

This puts them at a significant disadvantage when they are asked to compete with other, more affluent, students at other schools.

My Project

I would like to be able to provide my students with the same technology that is readily available to students that come from upper and middle class families. My students need graphing calculators. I want my students to be able to instantaneously analyze separate functions without having to go through the painstaking process of graphing every equation using pencil and paper.

I have no doubt that my students possess the intelligence to compete with kids at the wealthier schools and I am simply trying to level the playing field by providing them the same access to technology that other kids don't think twice about using.
