My Students

Many of my students struggle with reading. I have found that they perform better on tests when they can read the questions aloud. Whisper phones keep the volume level manageable in the room. The students are excited about reading and now want to practice reading aloud regularly.

I have 25 of the greatest students.

We are a city public school of mixed demographics. Our school is a STEM school. They look forward to coming to school. They are interested in learning and have goals of being engineers, doctors, designers, scientists, and teachers.

My Project

Imagine having 25 students that want to read their questions aloud on a test or practice reading aloud at the same time. Since they began reading (whispering) their questions aloud, I have noticed that their test scores have begun to show improvement. They enjoy reading but lack the confidence to read aloud. By allowing them to practice through the whisper phones, they can feel good about reading aloud and have the confidence about responding in class and their performance on tests.

Imagine being able to help a classroom of students with one simple tool.

I want my students to be lifelong learners, feel good about themselves when they read, and be able to use the information they read to answer questions. They perform better when they can read aloud. The whisper phones help keep the classroom volume level manageable while everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Additionally, I will be able to use the whisper phones year after year.
