Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have begun on creating drawings of spring flowers and we just need a few more materials to complete this project. The younger grades will use regular paper with markers and pencils, and grades 2 and 3 have the option of creating a drawing on paper or on plastic sheet protectors using sharpie markers. (This is a PK-3rd Grade School).

I will help them insert a crinkled aluminum foil sheet in the plastic sheet protectors, which sits behind the plastic sharpie-colored flower picture.

The aluminum foil adds a beautiful sheen and depth to the flower picture! The paper cutter will be used to trim down a sheet of cardstock, onto which the sheet of crinkled aluminum foil is attached and inserted into the plastic page protector, with the sharpie colored drawing sitting on the front of the page protector.

The very best of the spring flowers work will be submitted into the downtown local Art League's contest, using the frames. The majority will be posted on our school walls quickly, which kids also love, as they like to see their work displayed in the school. The children will take them home when they come down from the walls in a month. We are working on drawing crocuses, daffodils, tulips, roses, and daisies. When kids like their art work, they want to take them home immediately to show their families. Already several students like their work so much they asked to take home their pictures! But others have their eyes on entering the contest. I am only asking for a few marker sets to give the kids all the colors to choose from. Your donation will give all the materials needed to make this spring flowers project a success! Thank you for considering this project!
