My students need basic supplies in order to process their learning. As well as fundamental items like labs, enclosed ecosystem and scalpels to explore the important concepts we are learning in life science.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I teach at a title one school in Texas. My students are great critical thinkers. They crave experiences and love to put their own stamp on what they do. My students learn best by doing.
They love learning how they impact the world and how they can make a difference.
My students love to learn the how, what and why of the concepts we teach. As their teacher, my goal is to make my students good global citizens. Part of being a global citizen, is preserving our world for the next generation.
The ecosystem will help teach the idea of relationships. Whether in nature or with people, students will have an understanding of how we and our actions effect someone or something. Furthermore, it will show students that their actions have consequences for not only them but the world around them.
My Project
The products I will have selected will allow my students to process and explore the concepts we learn in class. The ink cartridges, glue sticks and pencils will assist students to build their own textbook. By building their own textbook (ISN), students will be able to process difficult concepts in a way that meets their own learning style.
The lab supplies I have requested will allow my students to make real life connections to the concepts we learn in class.
The scalpels will allow my students to do more dissections and learn more from the organisms we investigate. I have requested a energy pyramid lab set to reinforce this concept that my students struggle with.
The enclosed ecosystem will be used in every unit as we talk about how individual organisms effect their environments. The ecosystem will provide a chance for my students to see how an ecosystem influences an organism.
