My Students

Our students come from all over Brooklyn- as we are a district PreK serving many different neighborhoods. This makes our school community diverse and unique. Our students come from varying backgrounds and cultures. Living in New York City, all of our students have been affected by COVID-19. They are 3-5 years of age and learn through open-ended questioning, exploring the process (not focusing on results) and of course, play!

My Project

As we head into this school year facing many challenges and uncertainties. It is my hope that these materials offer students and their families some stability and comfort, and a few less things to worry about. We will focus on taking care of each other, both our health and social and emotional well-being. The books I requested will help the children relate to the new world we live in. The bins and materials will help them keep their school materials separated and make it easier to disinfect. They will also use them to bring materials home for days in which they are learning remotely.
