My Students
As a MATH teacher in a South Brooklyn school, some of my students have more resources at home than others. As a sixth year teacher, I think it is imperative that my students all get equal opportunity to do well on their assignments. Despite the many challenges some of my students might face, I am looking to keep things interactive and simple. I want to provide my students with the resources they need to succeed in my class and in life.
My students come from various cultural backgrounds, I want my online classroom to be a place where we learn from each others differences.
When students enter my online/in person classroom, I focus on their potential and their growth. Having a new printer and supplies will give students the opportunity to be a part of our ever growing community. By using google slides, zoom, interactive resources, and other media students will visualize and interact with each other in our digital world. Having a working printer is essential in this field and it would be the utmost benefit to my students.
My Project
With COVID 19, nothing is constant anymore. Going back to the school building can be challenging for both students and teachers. As a math teacher, I want to make the materials as visually appealing and accessible to all of my students.
I am requesting color markers and cutout letters which will make the classroom a warm environment for my students when they are learning.
They will be able to annotate their math work using these new supplies. Students might end up learning in the school building and at home.
I am also requesting a printer which will ensure that my students have the worksheets they need in order to be successful with the upcoming school year. Students will receive differentiated math material so they can learn as best as possible. Students will use the new materials to work together to come up with new ways of thinking and keep themselves organized.
