My Students

Please help my students achieve reading readiness in kinder!. Hi I'm a kindergarten teacher and I want my students to start the new school year with a milestone project to read 100 books from different genres. This project will help them develop reading, comprehension and fluency skills.

My students and I attend a school that has low resources, but rich in team work, unity and hope for our students.

This is a crucial year for my kiddos coming from pre-k, they have the basic skills but we need to inspire them to achieve a difficult but not impossible goal, learning to read and comprehend. Our students have the power to attain anything they set their mind. I saw them when they entered prekindergarten (I was their pre-k teacher and now I'm moving with them to kinder) and how everything seem new and full of possibilities. This is the kind of students we have in our school - always looking the glass half full and reaching beyond the skies.

My Project

With the requested materials, my students will have an awesome classroom library with books of all different genres. They will be exposed to a wide range of fictional and nonfictional stories. They will practice their comprehension skills with the Focus on Reading Learning Chart and their fluency with the 1-Minute Sand Timers. We will have a daily reading warm up and 3 read aloud using our new library books. These activities will build their reading readiness and expose them to a versatile and amazing stories.

This project will impact not just the life of my students in my classroom but their life outside.

By giving them the opportunity of learning how to read we can improve their chances of succeeding, of raising a generation of readers, writers, future leaders and compassionate human beings. All of this is possible with just one important step DONATE. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and kindness.
