My Students

My high school theatre students are the most amazing kids I know. No other group at my school is as hard-working and welcoming as they are. I have students of all abilities and experience levels, but every single one of them is eager to learn new skills and they will do whatever it takes to make sure the show goes on.

When a student was quarantined during a fall production, a sophomore stepped up and took on two major solos with 24 hours' notice- and knocked it out of the park.

When a costume malfunctioned right before curtain, a junior crew member came up with a solution and saved the day in two minutes. When an inexperienced student struggled to learn choreography, a whole group gave up their lunch break to rehearse together. Who does that but theatre students?

My Project

We would like to create a stock of dance shoes in the department costume closet to use for current and future shows. Dance shoes can be very costly, and performers often need multiple pairs of shows per show. Many of our students cannot afford to spend $100+ on shoes for one production. By having a stock of different types of dance shoes, the theatre department can eliminate this barrier to entry and welcome everyone to the theatre.

None of our current students have ever had the chance to participate in a high school musical.

Seussical is the first full-length musical our school has been able to produce since the pandemic. We want to provide them with an experience that will prepare them for university or professional level work. This isn't just high school theatre, it is the stepping stone to the next level of great artistry.

Our students have already found a family in the theatre. Please help us make their experience even better!
