This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are inner-city middle schoolers from a wide range of backgrounds. I am new to this school, so I am very excited to get to know them! The few students that I have met have expressed their excitement to do science experiments. During a “meet the teacher” event recently, I met a young man named Tiger.
Tiger asked me if we were going to actually do some science experiments this year.
I told him that I will make it happen.
These kids have been through so much uncertainty during this pandemic, and my biggest wish is to make science experiments happen for them.
My Project
Science is full of information. Information is needed to understand the world around us. Science is the key to almost every career choice.
Our kids have been through enough.
It will be difficult to retain their attention after virtual learning. These materials will benefit my students as they finally return to the classroom and long for hands-on learning. Good strong science lab activities will spark their imagination and heighten their learning neurons. In return, they will remember these experiments for the rest of their lives.
At my school, we believe that every child deserves a chance to go to college and make an impact in the world. Most of my kids are from families that did not go to college. Please help me spark their interest and create the next generation of critical thinkers.
