Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My Music classroom is a challenged and fun place to be. This year, I started in a new school, where I teach all elementary students and Middle school choir. My students are so exited to come to music every week to enjoy the class and playing instruments since they were limited from this privilege for many years ago along with show performances.

My students are clever, passionate, hopeful, and creative!

As a new music teacher in this school, I am having the great pleasure of introducing my students to a new experience. They get to play instruments they have not seen before and enjoy from a different environment that has been a little difficult due to the space in my classroom. We have some limited chairs in the school and the best idea I came up with is to cover my floor with a gigantic music rug. They will feel the positive environment of the classroom and be confortable seated on the floor playing different instruments and get a couple of more ukuleles to not have to share the ones we have in the double classes.

My Project

Every single item in my list, it is important for my classroom. I trying to cover many needs with this great opportunity I having with Chevron, for which, I am very thankful already.

Every single item is appreciated and important for my students.

The first item in my list was the Music rug. This item will make a huge impact in my classroom due to the lack of chairs and furnitures in good conditions we have in our classroom. I will give the kids a confortable environment for seating and learning on the floor. Some of the other items are for completing a set of Ukuleles so every kid gets an instruments to play, as well as the straps to secure the instruments, and another rug along with a cover to protect a drum set that we use every year in the classroom and the stage.
