This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Providing education, support and hygiene products to my upper grade students as they transition to becoming young ladies is important. Young ladies should have early knowledge of the changes in their body. Early understanding benefits consist of higher self esteem and confidence among young women. These kits will be given out to students after participating in a puberty workshop to understand the physical and emotional changes in their body. Often young women are taught to be embarrassed and not talk about their period and other changes that come with puberty. It's time we normalize puberty!
