My Students

I believe it is essential for my first graders to be exposed to the latest technology.

I have 26 first graders who are eager to learn.

They are wonderful storytellers and mathematicians. I want to create a school environment that fosters their curiosity and love of learning. In our school, 54% of the students receive free or reduced price meals.

My Project

With an iPad my students will be able to learn their literacy skills, letter sounds, blending , phonics using an interactive medium that will respond and help guide as they learn. It will also begin to prepare them to learn how to work with the latest technology that will follow them throughout their academic lives.

First grade is such an important year in a child's academic life.

It is a year that sets the foundation for them. It helps shape and develop the kind of learner they will become. I believe it is essential to give these young minds the opportunity to begin to learn how to work with technology from the very beginning.
