Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Young students are dealing with various mental health issues at an unprecedented level. This expressive art group will provide an opportunity where students can work collaboratively to learn healthy coping skills related to their personal stresses and anxieties.
The goal of this program is to provide students with the coping strategies to manage their emotions, create a safe space to share and grow, promote positive healing, and celebrate our school’s diversity through creative expression.
For this program to be successful my students need enrichment tools such as music tools, art supplies, journals, and nutritious snacks. We will have different activities for each session such as writing prompts, art, and spoken word to normalize the healing process as a shared experience with their peers.
With your donation I can empower my students to better cope with these unique and difficult challenges that would otherwise not get addressed.
