My Project

My students are creative and inquisitive and are very interested in learning about the brain and how the brain influences behavior. We are learning about the brain and hope to start a "Celebrity Brain" project in which we design our own celebrity brains that include a focus on how different parts of the brain are related to their celebrity of choice. Maybe the brain of a professional athlete needs balance, coordination, and a brain that directs them on how to play their game, or a musician that must remember the lyrics of a song.

Students will be learning about the brain while building their own representation of the brain of a chosen celebrity.

We have already colored and labeled 2D brains but many students are having trouble conceptualizing the 3D brain and expressed interest in building their own 3D brains.

Crafting tools will help to shape visual representations of the brain. Laminating materials will be used on student examples that stand out and can be shared with students in years to come.
