Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Children sometimes need a place to take a break from what's happening around them, a safe space where they can go to calm down or solve problems. A cozy, calming corner is a comfortable place away from active classroom areas where children can choose to sort through big emotions (not a "time out" area).

The cozy corner can provide a safe space for children to calm down and solve problems.

It can help children develop self-awareness, self-soothing, and acknowledging feelings. These skills are beneficial as they continue to grow and learn how to regulate their emotions effectively.

A cozy corner is an area where my students can calm down when they feel overwhelmed, and their emotions become too much to control on their own. They can visit the cozy corner, which provides strategies for calming down.

The cozy corner will allow them time to regulate their emotions. It is an area where they feel a sense of comfort. Students can develop self-awareness and self-soothing skills.
