My Project

PART 2. My Academically Intellectually Gifted (AIG) students have opened a travel agency. We are learning geography by planning virtual trips to various locations around the world. Each student selects a country and then is responsible for planning the virtual visit to various historical and significant locations. As part of the lesson, we will read literature from each country and learn about geography. Prior to the lesson, students will receive a plane ticket to the selected destination and a stamp in their faux passport at the conclusion of the lesson. Allowing the students to take ownership of a significant portion of the lesson will increase engagement and motivation to learn while taking these Title I students to places that they may otherwise never have an opportunity to visit. As the AIG teacher, I am not assigned any of the district-provided Chromebooks and my school does not have any extra ones at this time. These Lenovo tablets will give my students access to the internet to conduct research during our small group sessions as well as serve as their gateway to global travel.
