My Students

Every day my students come to school excited to learn and discover the world around them. Many of my students have come to love art. It is a continuous saying in my class "art says a million words!" I would love my students to reach their full potential. However, it is hard with lack of supplies.

My students are in kindergarten.

They all live in low income housing or shelters. Despite their everyday living environment they come to school with the biggest smiles and greet me with hugs. My school is a wonderful school; however they lack the funding. They are not able to supply the classroom as needed. I believe that each student is entitled to appropriate education to enhance their social, cognitive, emotional, motor, and language skills.

My Project

The 3-station easel, journals, cash register, ten frames answer boards, sorting houses, stapler, dot painters, glue, electric pencil sharpener, Playdoh, drawing paper, blocks, newsprint, card stock, clay stampers, clay cutters and tools, and other materials that I am requesting will give every student the opportunity to explore new material. The Indoor/Outdoor 3-Station Easel will allow 4 students at the same time to paint or draw while interacting with a peer. The play dough and manipulative will help enhance their fine motor skills as well as make their own creations. The My First Draw & Write Journal will be used for their everyday writing workshop. It will keep all their writing materials together until the end of the year to show their growth. We don't have a pencil sharpener, so Stanley Bostitch QuietSharp6 Classroom Electric Pencil Sharpener, Blue is very important that every student start their writing with a brand new sharpened pencil. My students are learning to add. The ten frame will help them better understand the concept using the chip counters.

The donations will improve my classroom environment because these extra materials will be used to create centers which will allow every student the opportunity to stimulate their creative minds and explore new materials.

These new materials will allow each student to reach their potential.
