My Project

Exciting changes are coming to our school this fall! As part of a new schedule, all freshmen will have English class every single day for 80 minutes, all year long. That’s 180 days of reading, writing, discussion—and most importantly—choice. With this extra time, I’m thrilled to be expanding our Choice Reading program, giving students the opportunity to explore books that speak to them.

To do this right, I need to grow our classroom library in a big way.

My goal is to offer over 1,500 high-interest, diverse, and engaging books that meet my students where they are. These young adult titles will reflect a variety of voices, genres, and experiences, helping every Mustang find stories that matter to them. Whether they’re into fantasy, realistic fiction, graphic novels, or poetry, I want them to walk into my room and want to read.

Your support will help create a welcoming, well-stocked reading space where students fall in love with books and discover the power of storytelling. Together, we can turn this schedule change into something extraordinary—because every student deserves a library that sparks curiosity and joy.
