My Project

Most people think of singing or playing an instrument when they think about music class. We love to do those things but we also love to READ in music! Reading stories about famous musicians and their works give students insight as to how life was lived during that composer time, and why composers made certain choices for their music. It allows students to study how different instruments produce sound, and what materials they are made of. Some books teach standards like how melody moves really gives students a better understanding of the concepts.

Our school motto is "Learners for Life" and what better way to do that than by reading books?

When we focus on including reading it in related arts classes, we are telling students that we value those skills. Students get to see that no matter what class they are in, reading is important and is a vital tool in helping us learn. I am requesting a variety of books for my students as well as two resources books.
