My Students

My students are amazing! They surprise me each and every day and keep me learning more for them. We seriously have some of the best students in our small-town elementary school.

My students are always ready to try something new, because of that, I want to be a better teacher every day.

I want to grow with them!

Our school is over sixty percent free or reduced price lunch recipients, but together our community, parents, and staff work to get us everything we need. I am so grateful to have wonderful people like you also partnering with us to help get our students everything they so deserve.

My Project

For the first time, third grade students have had the opportunity to learn to play music with their recorders.

They are earning black, blue, brown belts and more in Music class Recorder Karate!

Every Monday - Thursday they have the opportunity to stay in for part of recess with Mrs. Peterson and earn their next belt by playing a new song.

I'm so proud of how hard our third grade students have been working. In May they'll get to perform in their spring concert. After that they'll have to turn in their recorders and I know that so many of them will be attached to them and they'll really want to bring them home. Since they'll use recorders in fourth grade too, I'd love to be able to give them a recorder to keep as a reward for working so hard and learning all their beautiful songs. This way they'll continue to practice and grow all summer long!

They have also started using our one set of Osmos Coding Jam to create music. We have more bases, than kits, so I'd like to allow more groups to have this opportunity to create their own music. The cases are to allow easy access to their iPads, so that they don't have to uncase every time we want to use Osmos.
