My Students

The students at my Title I school are eager kids that want to show the world their music abilities. They come to music class ready to dance, sing and learn whatever musical element I want them to know. The students at my school have not had the opportunity to listen to music from different genres and different areas of the world.

My students love music and love to share with me their favorite experiences in music.

I teach at a Title I school where all of the children receive free breakfast and free lunch. There are many students at my school that receive back packs of food to take home over the weekend and we also have a food pantry at our school to benefit our families once a month.

Even with all the challenges that the students experience, the students come to music class eager to learn.

My Project

I will use the IPad in my classroom for interactive music programs, recording performance, recording assessment and to show the students how technology is used in music. This will be a great tool to use to show some connections with Music and Technology supported by STEAM.

The students will be able to record themselves in performances and practices and using a Music Midi app will be able to see how technology alters music.

The app will allow us to change the pitch of our music, add musical elements to the music to enhance what they have created.

The students will be able to see how Technology is important to the creation of music. The students will be able to view their before and after performances when we have completed a project.
