Does a familiar song bring a happy feeling to your heart? Do you get motivated when you hear a favorite song from the past? Do you think anything is possible when you hear a tune that motivated you years ago? Through the use of music, we can motivate and encourage ourselves.
These children live in rural area in Indiana.
They come from a low socio-economic region and typically come from transient homes. Our school is a rural public school. They are sweet and charismatic and respond very well to musical environments. These children are very special to me and I want to expose them to as many positive educational experiences as are possible.
My Project
Each day, during our school day, I will expose the children a vast set of music. Thought this project, I am asking for batteries and indoor/outdoor speakers to help me. This music is intended to prompt, motivate, and encourage the children to do Thier school experiences. Each morning, I will play an array of positive music to begin the day. For transitional period, I will play music, such as "Move It" to line up for special activities, and "Who Let The Dogs Out" to prompt them to get ready to go home at the end of the day. These children will not only learn to be responsible for their own routines, but also be encouraged in a positive environment.
I will also use these speakers in our nature lab outside. I am currently trying to rebuild the nature trail, marsh area, and dinosaur dig. We will eventually place benches on the trail with our birdhouses and the opportunity to have nature sounds and music in that area would provide a lot for the experience
Please help me to create an environment in my classroom and outdoor lab that instills responsible behavior and positive attitudes in the classroom.
The opportunity to provide this experience and a warm environment for these children is genuinely in your hands. Without your help, this will not be possible. Please donate to this cause and help me provide the musical environment that we know brain research supports.
