My Project

Thank you for considering donating to our music room! These materials will create a wider accessibility to all 765 students that walk into the music room each week and allow me the opportunity to greater differentiate for the needs of those students. I have many students who love music and connect with music deeply, and I would love to provide a wider variety of musical experiences for them as they come and experience music with each other each week.

The items listed will help provide more manipulatives for our functional skills students to interact with music and each other during their time in the music room.

The wrist ribbons and hand kites will provide another level of participation for my students who are developing their fine motor skills. The headphones will provide easier access to students who are sensitive to loud noises on days where the music room is just a little louder than normal. This will allow students to participate in a more accessible manner when they have access to headphones in the music room rather than having to step out if some days get a little louder than others. The pool noodles will allow me to make some sensory friendly and safe instruments like sand blocks and beat keepers. The lummi sticks, castanets, and thunder tube will expose all of my students to different instruments and sounds that we can make and create in the music room and the world around us.
