Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our Special Need Students voted that they would like to perform the Disney Musical: Encanto. We have been able to procure what we need for the set and the boys' costumes, but not what we need for the girls' costumes. Having costumes similar to the Disney costumes, which reflect Hispanic culture, will make a difference in their learning and performing, as the students will be able to more fully engage in their characters if they are dressed in the appropriate costumes.
Our goal for this project is to give our special needs students the joyful experience of performing in a musical.
Our students are all special; they are all on the autistic spectrum, love music and dancing, and learning through sensory experience. I love that they related so much to this musical that they decided they would like to perform it. We need to buy clothing for the girls' costumes. Please help us. Thank you.
