Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As you all know there are many changes are coming to education during these times and materials have been limited from the district. Having access to musical instruments and inflatable microphones/guitars will have my class wanting to participate. These items will teach them social skills such as sharing, turn taking and using language to ask and discuss each instrument. It will get them excited about new toys in the classroom and more musical instruments that we didn’t have before. My project will help my students with their overall development using music as a sign of communication/de-escalation/participation skills. Having access to this material will also take off the financial burden of myself trying to purchase these items.

These supplies will give my students access to resources that they would typically have in our classroom but new and improved.

My students need one-on-one and hands-on teaching and the variety of instruments being asked for will help ALL students participate regardless of disability. I would like to provide all my students with ability to participate regardless of disability.
