My Project
The sounds of singing ring through the hallways at school. However, something is missing, the addition of the recorder! Continuing in a tradition of last year, students learn how to play the recorder and not just any old song, but repertoire they are singing in class!
Last year, the 5th grade not only sang Blackbird by the Beatles, but they performed an instrumental version on their recorders.
For many students, the recorder is often a first instrument.
The recorder provides students with the opportunity to apply their music literacy skills with a love of performing. Imagine how excited they were when they learned and perfected all of the notes needed for the song, asked to take their recorders home to practice, and performed their song in unison as a group. It was music to everyone's ears!
