My Students

I am a K-5th grade special education teacher, located in a public school in Brooklyn, New York. The school is located in a high needs community and many of the students are supplemented with free or reduced lunch.

I have 12 students in my classroom with different types of challenges.

All the students in my classroom are standardized assessed. In addition to my special education classroom, my students have counseling services, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and/or Speech Services.

My Project

The students will create a song as their culminating project. The students will learn about the process of songwriting, as it pertains to the structure of a song and rhyme scheme. We will review some popular music as examples of what has been created by artists to give them the inspiration to make their own.

This music project will be beneficial for the students in terms of socialization and academics as well.

We will be able to write music and "record" the student's vocals by using the microphones and headphones from this Donor's Choose Project. We appreciate all your support!
