Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from many different backgrounds. Some were born in other countries and speak more than one language. The ones in my advanced bands are very committed to making music and sharing their talents with their parents, friends, and other members of their community. Our Jazz Band is well known in our city and is always in demand for live performances. These students take pride in what they do are always eager to perform.

The Symphonic Band has participated in a national competition for the past six years and has ended up with four first place finishes!

These students are committed to learning, hard work, and making great music. My kids are some of the hardest workers I have ever taught.

My Project

Our music recording center uses condenser microphones, audio interfaces, and recording software for our computer. However, our apple computer has stopped working and can no longer be used.

The Macbook we are requesting will replace the burned out computer we used before.

My students will be able to continue to record themselves while playing individually or in groups, and evaluate their recorded performances. This process allows them to identify and correct mistakes they made while performing. This activity will help to develop better listening skills and improve overall musicianship. Best of all they will feel like recording artist perfecting their craft. This will bring a great boost to their self-esteem.
