Help Ms. Bauman

I teach kindergarten at an East Los Angeles public elementary school. The majority of our students receive free lunch. Fifty percent of my class is learning English as a second language. My students are awesome! Music is important at any stage in life, but it is an essential component in the day of the life of a kindergarten child! Who doesn't remember singing in kindergarten? I have spent the summer organizing my music into play lists on my iPod for use in the classroom. My problem is sharing it with my students! I need speakers, which will permit me to play tunes on my iPod in class. Music is more than just fun. Brain research tells us music plays a vital role in children's learning. I use music for teaching all subjects, including reading, math, science and social studies. I also expose students to a wide range of musical styles. Even my most reluctant learners respond when music is involved. You can bring music to my little ones (they love every minute of it) and support brain-based learning in my classroom by helping us obtain speakers.
