My Students

I am lucky to be a part of the special education program at my school. Currently, I teach preschool special education in a ICT classroom. My students range in age from 2-3 years old and come from different socio-economic backgrounds. Many of the children have limited or no language and are working on basic and appropriate communication.The children also have limited social-emotional or social-behavior skills that are developmentally below their age range and they are being introduced to appropriate social interactions, as well as, social communication skills for themselves, to engage with peers, and to engage with adults.

Regardless of above, my students are very curious about the world around them, and I want to provide them with ample opportunities to learn and achieve their goals.

I want to provide a safe place for my students to come together and learn from each other. I want to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.

My Project

Please help me provide my students with multicultural musical instruments to incorporate multicultural themes into our curriculum. I believe it will help increases harmony among children of various cultures. By having these instruments, students can explore diverse musical instruments to become familiar with the cultural heritage, languages, and customs of different cultures within their class and in society. The integration of multicultural music into our curriculum will assist us in achieving so many of our goals, including improving students' listening skills, teaching them about diversity, and increasing parents' involvement. It can also help our students bring their own personal experiences to the class.
