This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a Title I school with over 90% of students coming from families who qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Opportunities to work with the newest technology are few and far between. I have made it my goal over the last few years to bring nothing but the best into my classroom so that my students have the opportunity to make music the way it was meant to be made - with fun and creativity!

Music helps our students thrive in today's society and we want to allow them to be exposed to music playing.

When given these opportunities, I have seen my students blossom in a way I have never seen before, and I want to continue to try and provide them with different ways to make their musical projects soar to new heights.

My Project

Our students are learning about Latin rhythms and these resources will be essential to their understanding of Latin beats and sounds.

Latin music is in the bloodstream of our students and these instruments will empower them as they perform their favorite rhythms.

Our Salsa style is built with brass instruments, multiple percussion elements and lots of syncopation. The trombones are a key ingredient and together with a proper timbale set and a keyboard, our little stars will be grooving in no time. Our diverse community really enjoys it when our children carry on with their beloved traditions and present all-time favorites for all to sing and dance.
