Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My class is a special education class in a low-income area. I have varied Exceptionalities in my classroom ranging from Autism, Specified Learning Disabled, Visually Impaired, and Developmentally Delayed.

My students are special needs children that require lots of equipment to help them get motivated to speak, move, and express themselves. By using music it is a way of being able to break down the wall that my students put up when they first walk in the door.

Music brings my students together. They are able to dance, sing, and express themselves how ever they want. These instruments will give my students a way of expression.

My students have a difficult time expressing themselves using words, but by giving them these instruments you are giving them the opportunity to express themselves like never before. I have a Visually Impaired student in my class that loves to dance and hear music. He loves to play with anything that makes sounds. These instruments will be another source that he can use to create great expression through music.
