This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Music and dance are an integral part of children's development. My Pre-K to 2nd grade dance students need access to music that will inspire them to dance in various styles from around the world.

I teach a diverse group of young children in a high-poverty urban setting.

They represent a multitude of cultural backgrounds with a varied taste in music and dance. Many students I teach lack access to regular physical activity and exposure to the arts, so I am seeking a source of music to help support their dance education.

My Project

As a dance teacher, I am excited to introduce my children to a multitude of dance styles, including jazz, hip-hop, Latin, and African dance. In order to provide my students the music they need to dance, we need an iPod and speakers to play songs. Students will have the opportunity to hear and dance to new music from around the world, as well as more traditional songs.

Your donations will make it possible for students to express themselves through dance and develop an appreciation for a variety of types of music.
