This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school community depends on the school to teach the fundamentals. Our kiddos enter the classroom eager to learn. With daily uplifting academic songs and chants to put us all in a positive learning mood, my students enjoy the first meal of the day. Now, we would benefit from an arts boost to keep our students learning through music from home.

Let's tap, swing, toot, and boogie our way to academic success with music!

There are so many cool items on the back-to-school shopping lists but my inner city kids would greatly benefit from musical instruments and music education to activate their whole brain. My kiddos need materials that will boost their neural activity through music.

My Project

I use music in the classroom to spread joy and information. You'll often catch my students and I singing or practicing rhythm patterns. We sing, clap, dance, and chant to songs I make up about proper nouns, punctuation marks, skip counting, you name it! Now I'd like to share some music resources for my students to practice and enjoy from home. I'd love for my students to receive recorders, kazoos, rhythm sticks, shakers, and rhythm scarves. These tools are perfect for beginners!

The art of music is not just in the notes, it is the spark that ignites creativity!

Music activates the whole brain. Music as a learning tool helps students connect to learning with more focus. Unaware of the neuron connections, kids dive into learning music for the joy of it. Please partner up with me to deliberately sneak in music ed with extra scoops of joy in their lives from home. They'll be scattin', tootin', tappin', and learning through music.
